60+ Meal Program
About the Program
The Congregate Meal Program, also known as the Senior Meal Program, is a daily lunch program that ensures a free and nutritious meal for seniors ages 60 and older. The program is sponsored in part by the Dallas Area Agency on Aging, and the Texas Department of Health and Human Services. Lunch is served Monday - Friday beginning at 11:45 a.m. while food supply lasts or until all eligible participants have received a qualified meal. Lunch is served at the Cedar Hill Senior Center, and usually concludes by 12:45 p.m.A one week ahead RSVP (reservation) is strongly encouraged. Cut-off will be Thursdays at 12:00pm. To reserve your spot, please contact the Senior Center at 972-291-5353 or visit in person at the address below M-F from 8am-4pm.
Seniors do not have to be a member of the Cedar Hill Senior Center to participate in the free lunch program. In order to join the program, the applicant must complete an intake form and nutritional assessment prior to participation. These forms are found at the Cedar Hill Senior Center (address below). Participants must also participate in an annual nutrition education session/presentation to remain in the program. There is no cost for this nutrition education session/presentation. Cost
The program is available at no cost for eligible adults ages 60 and better. A daily donation of $1.00 is suggested. Adults under the age of 60 or who live outside of Dallas County are not eligible participants, but may purchase the daily lunch for a fee of $6.75.Register
