Sit & Sew

Sit and sew is a class for adults who love sewing or wants to learn how to sew.  Space is limited.  Please call (972) 291-7323 ext. 1300 to register.

Loom Knitting

Anyone of any skill level is invited!  Loom knitting is easy, fun and doesn't take long to complete!  Learn how to make your own gloves, scarves and hats with the loom.  Some of the hate created will be donated to various North Texas Organizations including the Scottish Rite Hospital for Children, various cancer centers, and local nursing homes.

The City of Cedar Hill is partnering in a community-wide gardening effort.  Community gardening helps build relationships, teaches kids the benefits of home grown food and encourages everyone to become part of the Growing Green community.  Cedar Hill Discovery Garden is located at the Zula B. Wylie Public Library.

More about the Cedar Hill Discovery Garden

• How much will it cost?
  The cost of maintaining a plot is free.
• Will I need to provide tools?
  The basic gardening tools are provided.
• What size are the plots
  Each plot is a 4-foot, 8-inch by 12-foot raised bed, half plots are also available.
• Is the soil organic?
  Yes, the soil is organic and gardeners are encouraged to use all organic products in their garden plot.
• Is water provided?
  Yes, water and watering hoses are provided by the Zula B. Wylie Public Library
• How do I signup for a garden plot?
  If you are interested in having a garden plot, register online. You will then be added to the Prospective Community Gardeners List, and notified when a space becomes available.
• What is my commitment to the garden when I receive a plot?

The Cedar Hill Genealogical Society provides educational program and training in genealogical research during their monthly meetings, which are open to the public.
