Bicycle Safety Presentations

Police And Community Team partners with the Cedar Hill Traffic Division and the Cedar Hill Independent School District Police Department to provide safety information for students on Bike Safety, Bus Stop Safety and Bus Safety.

Share these tips to help keep your children safe while traveling on two wheels.

Child Identification and Fingerprinting

At special events or on an individual basis, the Police And Community Team will supply and help you fill out some valuable information on your children, including fingerprinting them. This is a valuable tool in crime prevention. Having your child fingerprinted and a current photo with all personal information filled out and on file are priceless in the event of an emergency.

McGruff Programs

In 1980 a televised public service announcement starring an unnamed dog in a trench coat who urged viewers to "Take A Bite Out Of Crime." The unnamed canine soon became known as McGruff the Crime Dog.

McGruff, who celebrated his 25th birthday in 2005, has become the beloved spokedog of the crime prevention movement. Over the years McGruff’s messages have changed. In the beginning, his messages focused on personal and home safety. Today they address broader crime prevention concerns - from community preparedness to identity theft.

Visit the McGruff the Crime Dog website for interactive information for kids including videos and games.

Safety Fairs

The Police Department in conjunction with the local businesses will host a Safety Fair in partnership with local businesses. The fairs include Officers from all over the Metroplex whose role is Public Safety. There are displays and presentations from the various public safety units such as K-9 Units, Helicopter, Ambulance, Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT), Narcotics, Crime Prevention, Fire Department, Traffic Units, Blood Donations and Health Screening to name a few.
