Drought Response Stages

Stage 1 (Voluntary)

The City of Cedar Hill requests that residents water according to the recommended watering schedule:

X = No watering

NOTE: You may water your outdoor plants from hand held containers at any time and soaker hoses may be used on your foundations. This will keep water evaporation to a minimum. Vehicle washing should occur on the lawn using a bucket or at a commercial car wash.

Stage 2 (Mandatory)

  1. If activated, the recommended watering schedule above becomes MANDATORY.
  2. You may only wash your vehicle at a commercial car wash, not at home.
  3. You may still water your plants from a hand held container and use soaker hoses around your home's foundation at any time.

Stage 3 (Mandatory)

  1. This stage will be activated only in the event of a water crisis.
  2. If activated, it requires that no outdoor watering take place at any time, day or night.
  3. You may only wash your vehicle at a commercial carwash, not at home. Commercial water users may also be required to reduce their water usage, depending on severity of the water shortage.
  4. You may still water your plants from a hand held container and use soaker hoses around your home's foundation.
  5. All non-essential uses of water are prohibited during Stage 3.
