[ARCHIVED] Traphene Hickman Library’s Recording Studio Featured on WFAA Channel 8

Building

The Traphene Hickman Library was recently featured on WFAA Channel 8, the ABC affiliate for the Dallas–Fort Worth metroplex, for its Poetic Justice Recording Studio — a free, fully equipped space for podcasting, music production, filmmaking, and more.

This is a hub for creatives to really come together, to really express themselves, said Library Director Aranda Bell. “We are not your grandmother’s library.” Open to residents and non-residents alike, the studio provides professional-level tools and a welcoming space to explore creativity.

Mayor Stephen Mason also spoke about the studio’s long-term impact: I hope that we can be able to have them look back years from now and know that it started right here in Cedar Hill.

As one of the only libraries in the region with a recording studio, Traphene Hickman Library is helping individuals write — and record — their own stories.

Watch the full WFAA story and learn how you can start creating at the Poetic Justice Studio [https://youtu.be/5UPN0GG5oUU?si=zYVdjEdQtPA2ZQdA].
