Celebrate Park & Recreation Month in July by visiting one of the following locations: Valley Ridge Park, Virginia Weaver Park, Highlands South Park, Crawford Park, Alan E. Sims Cedar Hill Recreation Center, Senior Center, Zula B. Wylie Public Library, and the Cedar Hill Government Center. Snap a photo while you’re there and share it with us on social media. Use #cedarhillpard and tag our page in your post. The first 50 people to submit their selfies will win a special Get Your Play On T-shirt!



Fridays, July 7-August 11 - Jam to Give Concerts


Get ready to JAM! Hillside Village will present its ninth annual JAM to Give summer concert series on Fridays, July 7 through August 11 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. The concerts are free to the public and will be held at the Village Green, located directly across from Barnes & Noble Booksellers. During each concert, Hillside Village will recognize a different local nonprofit organization with a monetary donation, as well as hosting an in-kind donation drive. Concert attendees are encouraged to bring an item requested by the featured nonprofit, which are listed below. If you are unable to attend the concert and would like to donate items, please take them to Popcorn Junction in the Village Green with the name of the charity and we will pass out the night of the event.

Celebrate Park & Recreation Month with us at Crawford Park Pool. Enjoy a fun-filled day of pool games, music and giveaways. The first 200 people get FREE In-n-Out Burger! Entry is $2.00 per person.

Cedar Hill Youth Sports Association will also be set up from 2:00-4:00 doing on-site registrations for fall athletics!

July 22 - Habitat Restoration Workday

Volunteers are invited to join us to assist with our monthly habitat workday. Projects are based on current needs and may include trail-building, habitat management, invasive plant removal, gardens and much more. Corporate and other team building groups welcome! Please call or e-mail in advance if arriving with a group of more than five so that we may plan projects accordingly. We recommend that you bring work gloves, sunscreen, hat, appropriate footwear and clothes that can get dirty. We will provide tools but if you have basic tools that you can bring, you are welcome to do so.

From now on Dogwood Canyon Audubon Center will open up our trails every Sunday to you and your furry friends. All they ask is that you please follow their basic rules: use a leash, clean up your mess, and have fun!
